Post I  Community Organizer (Inadequately-housed and social housing households) (Tsuen Wan and Kwai Hing)

  • Conduct community work and provide social services at transitional social housing project;
  • Conduct community work at urban slums, especially for the homeless; organize inadequately-housed households and underprivileged communities for policy reform;
  • Conduct policy research to identify community needs;
  • Provide emergent direct service for individuals and families in need.

Post III  Community Organizer (Homeless and other marginalized groups)

  • Conduct community work and provide social services at transitional social housing project;
  • Conduct community work at urban slums, especially for the homeless;
  • Organize the homeless people and other underprivileged communities for policy reform;
  • Provide emergent direct service for individuals and families in need.

 

Post IV  Community Organizer (Underprivileged children)

  • Conduct community work and provide social services for the children in poverty;
  • Conduct community work at urban slums; organize the underprivileged children for policy and service reform;
  • Provide emergent direct service for individuals and families in need.

 

Post V  Community Organizer (Underprivileged youth)

  • Conduct community work and provide social services for the underprivileged youth in poverty;
  • Conduct community work at urban slums, organize the deprived youth for policy and service reform;
  • Provide emergent direct service for individuals and families in need.

 

Post VI  Community Organizer (Low-income households)

  • Conduct community work and provide social services for low-income households;
  • Conduct community work at urban slums, organize the low-income households for policy and service reform;
  • Provide emergent direct service for individuals and families in need.

 

Requirements for the above posts:

  • Bachelor degree holder of any discipline, or holder of Diploma of Social Work
  • Registered Social Worker preferred
  • Commit to policy advocacy and serve the underprivileged with critical mind and passion
  • Duties on Saturdays and occasionally on Sundays required.

Program Worker (Homeless people and other marginalized groups)

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist to conduct community work for the homeless people at urban slums;
  • Assist to the homeless people for policy reform;
  • Assist to conduct policy research to identify community needs;
  • Assist to provide social services and other supporting services at transitional social housing;
  • Assist to provide emergent direct service for the homeless people in need;
  • Assist to handle administrative work and provide clerical support for the project.

 

Requirements

  • Diploma holder or above;
  • Commit to policy advocacy and serve the underprivileged with critical mind and passion;
  • Good command of written and spoken English, Mandarin preferred;
  • Ability to work under pressure; good team-work spirit;
  • Understand and support the mission of SoCO;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team;
  • Participate outreaching work for marginalized groups.

Program Worker (Underprivileged children and women)

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist to provide learning and developmental resources and facilities for low-income families and children living in urban slums;
  • Assist to provide training programs for the low-income families and children to enhance their psychological and social development;
  • Assist to locate and mobilize social resources to assist the learning and development of the disadvantaged children;
  • Assist to provide training for the parents so as to enhance their parenting skills;
  • Assist to handle administrative work and provide clerical support for the project.

 

Requirements

  • Diploma holder or above;
  • Commit to policy advocacy and serve the underprivileged with critical mind and passion;
  • Good command of written and spoken English, Mandarin preferred;
  • Ability to work under pressure; good team-work spirit;
  • Understand and support the mission of SoCO;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team;
  • Participate outreaching work for marginalized groups.

Accounting Officer (Central Administration)

HK$17,000 – HK$25,000 /month

Responsibilities:

  • Handle full set accounts independently;
  • Prepare financial and monthly management reports;
  • Prepare and review weekly and monthly report;
  • Prepare bank reconciliation and actual expenses vs monthly budget;
  • Assist in annual audited accounts and liaise with external auditors;
  • Handle ad hoc tasks and assignments as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Providing wide exposure in management accounting;
  • Possess a recognized university degree in finance, accounting, business or equivalent and preferably in the course of pursuing a professional accounting qualification;
  • Have at least 3 years of relevant working experience in bookkeeping and accounts preparation;
  • Familiar with using accounting software (knowledge about “Peachtree” would be preferable);
  • Work in small team;
  • Good command of English.

Assistant Communications Officer

 

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance public awareness and draw funding support to SoCO’s work for the underprivileged communities in Hong Kong;
  • Create impressive and engaging content (text, images, videos or multi-media) for SoCO’s online channels and social media platforms (including official webpage, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other social media platforms);
  • Develop and manage digital ad campaigns on various platforms (e.g. Google, Meta etc.) to drive traffic & engagements, raise brand awareness, and also to drive registrations for our fundraising events;
  • Co-operate with different projects by multimedia work, such as videos, photographs;
  • Prepare EDMs, letters and other communications to our donors and public;
  • Assist in fund-raising activities for SoCO and promoting agency’s events;
  • Assist to organize activities and programs for volunteer and donor management.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Possess higher diploma or above in Marketing / Communications / Journalism / Multimedia / Design preferred;
  • Passion in serving the underprivileged community and support the mission of SoCO;
  • Be a good team player with strong interpersonal skills and a creative initiator;
  • High sense of self-initiative with excellent time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently;
  • Be familiar with social networking tools, graphic design, web programming and database management is an advantage;
  • Knowledgeable in photo editing and graphic design (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop);
  • Proficient in MS Office (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Good command of both written & spoken English and Chinese.

Account Clerk

HK$14,000 – HK$20,000 /month

Responsibilities:

  • Assist to handle accounting work and book-keeping of the social service project;
  • Assist to handle administrative work and provide clerical support for the project;
  • Assist to provide emergent direct service for the residents of transitional social housing project.

 

Requirements:

  • Secondary 6 or above with LCCI intermediate level or above in accounting;
  • Experience of handling accounting work of lease preferred;
  • Experience in using accounting software preferred;
  • Good computer skills, including Word, Excel and data-entry in Chinese and English;
  • Ability to work under pressure; good team-work spirit; understand and support the mission of SoCO.

Temporary Estate Assistant (1-year contract)

 

Responsibility:

To assist administrative works of the project.

 

Qualification:

  • Academic qualification equivalent to or above Diploma level from a local or overseas tertiary educational institution with at least 6 months of working experience;
  • ability to work under pressure; good team-work spirit;
  • understand and support the mission of SoCO.

Temporary Programme Assistant (1-year contract)

 

Responsibility:

To assist provision of social and community support services to tenants of the project.

 

Qualification:

  • Academic qualification equivalent to or above Diploma level from a local or overseas tertiary educational institution with at least 6 months of working experience in providing social services or related services;
  • ability to work under pressure;
  • good team-work spirit;
  • understand and support the mission of SoCO.

Temporary Attendant (1-year contract)

 

Responsibility:

To assist frontline operation duties of the project.

 

Qualification:

Effectively work in team work in operation and social establishment programme to employ residents of the project;

ability to work under pressure; good team-work spirit;

understand and support the mission of SoCO.
