Community Education and Law Center
The Basic Law and international covenants on human rights provide that Hong Kong citizens enjoy various rights according to law. Citizens also face many legal issues in their daily life. SoCO establishes the Community Education and Law Center to assist citizens to know the legal system and protect their legal rights. Through community educational activities, the Center strengthens citizens’ concept of rule of law. The Center also concerns itself with the welfare of the disadvantaged communities, who are marginalized and discriminated against, as well as the problems of discrimination among different communities. SoCO puts forth legislative proposals to protect the legal rights of the grassroots.
