Gas Station for the Homeless: Employment Support Scheme 2024/25-2025/26

(Homeless Gas Station 2.0)

Since 2022, the “Homeless Gas Station—Pandemic Relief and Employment Support Program 2022–2024,” sponsored by Kerry Group, has provided tuition-free, subsidized renovation skills training to homeless individuals and rehabilitated persons who lost their jobs or faced reduced working hours due to the pandemic. Upon course completion, participants are offered internship opportunities.

Starting July 2024, Kerry Group and Chow Tai Fook Charitable Foundation jointly sponsor “the Gas Station for the Homeless: Employment Support Scheme 2024/25-2025/26”to continue supporting homeless individuals and ex-offenders who remain unemployed post-pandemic. The program includes introductory maintenance skills training courses, volunteer group activities, case counseling, and free basic move-in renovation services for public housing tenants with financial needs.

The introductory maintenance skills training covers four new tenant renovation services: laying vinyl flooring, installing exhaust fans, installing curtain tracks, and installing disability handrails. Participants who complete the course will be arranged for internships, where they will provide services to newly settled public housing households under the guidance of experienced volunteer master craftsmen. Additionally, the program will continue to offer emotional, employment, housing, financial, and social connection support to homeless individuals and rehabilitated persons through volunteer group activities and case counseling services.
