There are about 270,000 poor children in Hong Kong, and 50,000 of them are living in sub-divided cubicles in poor conditions. Therefore, since 2004, the Society for Community Organization has recruited community members as Santa Claus through the Santa Project to deliver Christmas gifts to needy grassroots children. The Christmas wishes of nearly 4,000 poor children this year were mostly for the basic necessities of life/learning, such as black shoes/white sneakers for school, school bags, school books, quilts, sports equipment, etc.
We are grateful to the following organizations and individuals for their generous donations to purchase Christmas gifts for nearly 4,000 grassroots children, making their wishes come true! Caring for grassroots children and working alongside the disadvantaged will help these children to have a happy and warm Christmas and to meet their living/learning needs.
