The Aqua Pearls Foundation
For You and Planet Blue
Programme 1: Clean Water Programs
Promoting clean drinking water awareness, starting at the community level. Through educational activities and community-based initiatives, the Clean Water Programs help grassroots residents understand the importance of safe drinking water and learn how to conserve water and protect water resources. BWT has also donated water filters to three centres, which are open for use by nearby residents, bringing clean drinking water into everyday life in older districts. By combining BWT’s water treatment expertise with community engagement, the programme brings the concept of clean water into the community and makes environmental protection an action that can be practised every day.
Programme 2: Energy-Efficient Workshops
Hands-on experience that brings energy efficiency and renewable energy into everyday life. Through interactive workshops, the programme promotes energy efficiency and upcycling in grassroots communities, with workshops covering wind power, solar energy, ecosystem fish tanks, sea glass, and solar-powered recycled bottle night lights. Participants make models and eco-friendly items by hand, learning about wind energy, solar applications, ecological cycles, and waste reuse. They then take what they have learned home to continue practising it, integrating energy saving and waste reduction into daily life.
Programme 3: Nature Exploration and Conservation Program
Stepping into the ocean to protect Hong Kong’s water and ecosystems. In 2026, the programme will take grassroots families to explore Hong Kong’s coastline, including visits to Golden Beach and a glass-bottom boat tour in Hoi Ha Wan, to observe coral ecosystems. Through first-hand experience, participants will learn about marine biodiversity and the relationship between water quality and coral health, thereby raising their awareness of protecting the ocean and water resources and bringing conservation actions back to their communities.
Programme 4: Clean Building Initiative
Starting with buildings to improve the living environment in grassroots communities. The initiative focuses on improving hygiene and environmental conditions in buildings in older districts, organising resident volunteers to take part in building cleaning activities. Through hands-on participation, residents not only improve their own living environment but also become advocates for community environmental protection, spreading the message of sustainability to more neighbours in older districts.
Programme 5: BWT Sustainability Ambassador
Nurturing children and parents to become sustainability ambassadors in their communities. The programme provides a series of training sessions for children and their parents, covering environmental topics such as understanding water resources and clean water technology, renewable energy, waste sorting, and upcycling. Through visits to environmental facilities, group discussions, and community promotion practice, participants build the skills and confidence to communicate sustainability messages to the public. After completing the training, the ambassadors will go into the community to organise environmental sharing and promotion activities, spreading messages about sustainable living to local residents. They will also visit and care for underprivileged groups, using action to promote a community culture that combines environmental protection with care and inclusiveness.
