Friends of SoCO is a community platform established by the Society for Community Organization (SoCO) in Hong Kong. It is dedicated to promoting community services and enhancing social care, including grassroots support, outreach services, news updates, and community advocacy. We aim to encourage broader public participation and bring positive changes to disadvantaged groups.

📢 Community Information

Friends of SoCO members will regularly receive updates related to grassroots communities, including news, policy analysis, discussions on social issues, and information about community resources. This helps the public stay informed and deepen their understanding of the living conditions of the underprivileged.

🏠 Community Care

Friends of SoCO will organize outreach visits to residents living in inadequate housing and to homeless individuals, providing material assistance, emotional support, and information about social services. Volunteers are also recruited to participate in our services, helping recipients feel the support of society.

📥 Supporting SoCO

Friends of SoCO will be invited to participate in various fundraising events to help impoverished and marginalized communities and advocate alongside them for people-centered policies and services. Examples include:

• Standard Chartered Marathon – Support the brave journeys of rehabilitated individuals, mental health recovery persons, and the homeless

• Flag Day – Support efforts to tackle poverty, housing issues, and educational inequality

• Charity Concert – Fund music education for grassroots children and support their holistic development

• Santa Project – Deliver Christmas gifts to children from low-income families
