Transitional Housing Project: “Tenacity Residence”, Ying Wa Street, Cheung Sha Wan

Project Background and Objectives
The Society for Community Organization (SoCO) has consistently advocated for long-term housing policies and is committed to utilizing unused community land to increase the availability of transitional housing.
Since the first quarter of 2022, this project has been completed and operational, providing a total of 140 units designed to alleviate short- to medium-term housing pressures for low-income families. Additionally, the project aims to foster a mutual support network among neighbors and implement standards for decent living conditions, along with community-based social services. Our hope is that transitional housing will eventually evolve into permanent social housing, further enhancing the quality of life for residents in need.

Tenancy and Fees
- Tenancy Period: Approximately a minimum of 2 years (Subject to the License Agreement; renewal depends on circumstances).
- Monthly Rent:
- Non-CSSA Families: Calculated at 25% of the average monthly household income (subject to minimum and maximum limits).。
- CSSA Families: Charged at the maximum rent allowance under the CSSA scheme.
- Utilities: Residents are responsible for water and electricity costs based on actual consumption.
- Miscellaneous: Residents are exempt from rates and management fees. Stamp duty is shared equally between the operator and the resident.
